MVU Solar Carport,

                                            Battery Storage, Dashboard

2018 saw the completion of the City Hall Solar Carport project. Nine solar panel arrays
with a capacity of 830 kilowatts were constructed on carport canopies in the parking lot
of City Hall. This renewable power project incorporates a 75 kilowatt battery storage unit
and will power two existing electric vehicle charging stations at City Hall. MVU included
an informational kiosk in the lobby of City Hall that reports statistical data on energy
production of the solar panels and energy consumption of the EV charging stations. This
project helps diversify MVU’s power supply portfolio and increases the utility’s renewable
energy resources. Plans are underway for MVU to design and install additional solar
carport facilities and additional electric vehicle charging stations for the public, at other
                                            City facilities.

                                            Integrated Resource Plan

MVU has developed an Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) to serve as a blueprint for ensuring
reliable, cost-effective and environmentally-responsible energy to its customers. The IRP
sets forth options for MVU to supply renewable power while reducing Greenhouse Gas
emissions, keeping the utility in compliance with the California Clean Energy and Pollution
Reduction Act of 2015. The adopted portfolio includes a mix of solar and wind power. MVU
keeps an eye on its mission to provide environmentally responsible resource management.

                                            Solar Scholars

MVU helped sponsor the University of California Riverside’s annual Solar Conference. The
2018 conference theme was “Solar Power: Past, Present, and Its Future in Inland Southern
California”. MVU disseminated information on our utility and its various programs to civic
leaders, planners, businesses, other utility agencies who were also in attendance. MVU
staff also kept abreast of current scholarship and emerging technologies in the fields of
solar generation, energy storage, and micro-grid systems.
